The Learning Forum will become the heart of the school as it integrates learning support, library resources and technology services to provide our digital learners a real space for academic collaboration and inquiry.

From our founding, TFS was committed to accepting talented students regardless of parents' financial means. The scholarship program is a chance to honour our earliest roots and to live, once again, the principles of accessibility.

Bonjour and welcome back, everyone! And welcome to the fall edition of En plein essor, our e-newsletter for Soaring Beyond: The Campaign for TFS. We hope that you had an enjoyable summer and that you are enjoying the fall term at TFS.
We were overjoyed at your enthusiastic response to the official launch of Soaring Beyond: The Campaign for TFS at the Welcome Back BBQ on September 19. Soaring Beyond is a top priority for the school, because the funds raised for the three strategic pillars — the Learning Forum @ TFS, Entrance Scholarships and Program Enrichment — will ensure that each TFS student has the opportunity to excel beyond every expectation. To date, we have raised $6.3 million toward our total campaign goal of $9 million.
Thanks to your generous support, some Program Enrichment initiatives undertaken over the summer will soon be completed. These include a complete upgrade to the science lab at Mississauga, a new science lab and upgraded art studio at the Senior School, and an upgrade to the Junior School gym to enhance functionality and to support student performances. These projects would not be possible without the financial support of our TFS community.
Additionally this summer, we began some of the pre-renovation work necessary to accommodate the Learning Forum hubs, thanks to $1.5 million raised last year. Our immediate goal for this academic year is to reach $2.8 million of the total $4 million project cost to establish Learning Forum hubs at each branch. Reaching $2.8 million will enable us to begin the final phase of renovations in the fall of 2015, for completion in the 2016-17 academic year.
The next exciting event on the TFS calendar is the popular Carrousel des nations, which will take place on November 29. It is a colourful cultural event celebrating diversity that you won’t want to miss! We are pleased to tell you that proceeds will be directed to Soaring Beyond: The Campaign for TFS.
We hope to see you at Carrousel in November. In the meantime, we encourage one and all to support Soaring Beyond: The Campaign for TFS with your time, talent or treasure. Please enjoy this September edition of our newsletter.
In closing, we want to thank everyone who has contributed to the campaign to date. We simply cannot do it without you!
